UP Jobs Update: So far, more than 977.54 hectares of land has been allotted to 62 companies under the Defense Corridor Project. These companies have paved the way for an investment of ₹11,997.45 crore and the creation of 14,256 direct jobs. Thousands of jobs are expected in Uttar Pradesh.

The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is taking special care of the youth. CM Yogi's most ambitious project, the UP Defense Industrial Corridor, is rapidly taking shape. This project has paved the way for more than 52,000 jobs. It is claimed that the path has been paved for the creation of more than 14,000 direct jobs, while the creation of more than 38,000 jobs is also expected. This single project of CM Yogi will transform the future of thousands of youth.
The UP Defense Industrial Corridor project was launched with the vision of making the country self-reliant in the defense and aerospace sectors. So far, more than 977.54 hectares of land has been allotted to 62 companies under this scheme. These companies have paved the way for investments worth ₹11,997.45 crore. Additionally, the path has been paved for the creation of 14,256 direct jobs. MoUs with 110 companies are in the pipeline. In which an investment of about Rs 23 thousand crore and creation of more than 38,000 jobs is expected.

Land given to 24 companies in Aligarh

The UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has approved a total of over 2,097 hectares of land across the corridor's six nodes (Aligarh, Kanpur, Lucknow, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, and Agra). Of this, land acquisition for over 2,040 hectares has been completed. Currently, 1,598.92 hectares of land is available for allocation. Aligarh has the highest number of land acquisitions, with 24 companies receiving land. Kanpur has the highest number of land allocations, with 210 hectares allocated to five companies.

Similarly, 571 hectares of land has been allocated to 17 companies in Jhansi, and over 131 hectares to 16 companies in Lucknow. The land allocation process is also set to begin in Chitrakoot, Aligarh Phase-2, and Agra. A total of 197 MoUs have been signed for the corridor so far, including 172 industrial MoUs. These MoUs represent a proposed investment of ₹34,844.49 crore, which is estimated to create 52,658 jobs in the state.

BrahMos Missile Manufacturing Unit Khas

In the next phase, MoUs are in the pipeline with over 110 companies. These 110 proposed industrial units are expected to generate investments of over ₹22,847 crore and create over 38,000 jobs. According to HP Shahi, ACEO of UPDA, the Defense Corridor is progressing rapidly in line with CM Yogi's vision.

A manufacturing unit for major projects like the BrahMos missile has been established in the Lucknow node, further enhancing the corridor's strategic importance. Through the Defense Corridor, the state is now competing with states like Gujarat and Tamil Nadu in defense production. Furthermore, more major announcements are expected in the coming months, which will accelerate Uttar Pradesh's progress towards achieving a trillion-dollar economy.
