Goa Club Fire Accident: Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, owners of the luxury nightclub "Birch by Romeo Lane" in the Arpora area of North Goa, have fled the country. A fire at the club at midnight on December 7, 2025, claimed the lives of 25 people, including tourists.
Club owner Saurabh Luthra and his brother Gaurav Luthra are accused of negligence. Both brothers are charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. It is reported that they fled Delhi to Phuket, Thailand, immediately after the incident. Goa police raided their properties in Delhi, issued a Look out Circular (LOC), and sought Interpol's assistance in securing their arrests.
Escape from IndiGo flight
Both are accused of a lack of fire safety equipment and neglect of safety standards at the club. Both accused fled the scene just hours after the incident. Investigating agencies determined that they had boarded IndiGo flight 6E 1073 from Indira Gandhi International Airport at 5:30 a.m. on December 7th, arriving in Phuket, Thailand. This flight was directly from Delhi to Phuket.
Interpol asked for help
Goa police acted swiftly and obtained a Look Out Circular (LOC) from the Bureau of Immigration (BOI). Prior to this, a special team arrived in Delhi and raided the brothers' locations. However, after they disappeared, notices under various legal provisions were posted on their properties. Based on information received from the Bureau of Immigration in Mumbai, flight details were revealed, which confirmed their disappearance to the police.
Now, the Goa police have decided to take the case internationally. They have contacted the CBI's Interpol division, seeking its assistance in immediately arresting the two brothers. Contact with Thai authorities is underway.
Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, owners of the luxury nightclub "Birch by Romeo Lane," are Delhi residents and own several luxury properties in Goa. Following this incident, their other clubs have also been sealed. Two people died in the fire and 23 died from suffocation in this nightclub fire.
