The Indian team will play against England under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. Gill has been made the captain of the Test team in place of Rohit Sharma. Rishabh Pant will be in the role of vice-captain in this series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shared a video on X in which Team India players are seen at the airport. Head coach Gautam Gambhir is also present with them.

The first match will be played in Leeds from June 20
The first Test of the five-match series between India and England will be played in Leeds from June 20. With this series, India's new World Test Championship cycle (2025-27) will also begin. Karun Nair has returned to the Indian team after eight years. Shardul Thakur is also making a comeback in the Indian team. In the video shared by BCCI of reaching England, the players are seen laughing and joking with each other.

In the video, fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah is saying, 'The guy is wearing glasses at night.' Gill was also seen in the video. At the same time, Sai Sudarshan said, 'I am looking forward to being a part of the Indian Test team.' Players like Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna are also seen at the airport. It is known that players like KL Rahul, Karun Nair, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have already reached England and they are participating in the unofficial test against England Lions.
