The Tata Sierra is one of the most anticipated SUVs in India right now, and it is all set to launch on November 25. Inspired by the original Sierra sold between 1991 and 2003, the new-generation model will enter a highly competitive segment dominated by strong performers like the Hyundai Creta. With its comeback, Tata Motors hopes to significantly boost its sales numbers.
Just ahead of launch, Tata Motors has officially revealed the SUV, confirming that it will offer five key features and an engine setup never seen before on any Tata vehicle in India.
Tata Sierra: New 1.5-Litre Turbo-Petrol Engine
The new Sierra will debut with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 168 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Buyers will have the option of a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DCT automatic—both tuned for strong performance and smooth power delivery.
Tata Sierra: Triple-Screen Dashboard
One of the biggest talking points is the triple-screen layout on the dashboard. The SUV will get:
• 12.3-inch central touchscreen infotainment system
• 12.3-inch touchscreen for the front passenger
• 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster
This triple-display setup is a first for any Tata car, elevating the Sierra into the premium and even luxury category of in-car technology. Until now, Tata has only offered dual-screen setups in its vehicles.
Tata Sierra: 12-Speaker JBL Audio
The Sierra will come equipped with a 12-speaker JBL sound system, the highest speaker count ever offered in a Tata car. It also includes a sleek soundbar positioned above the climate control panel to enhance the audio experience even further.
Tata Sierra: Segment-First Under-Thigh Support
Tata Motors has designed the Sierra with comfort in mind. One standout addition is the under-thigh support feature, which includes a fold-out extension on the seat base. This provides extra leg support during long drives, reducing fatigue—another first for any OEM vehicle in India.
Tata Sierra: Advanced Sun Visor
The SUV also introduces an improved sun visor setup, designed to offer better protection from harsh sunlight, particularly during early mornings and late afternoons when regular visors often fail to block direct glare.
