The much-anticipated release of "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari" starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor hit theaters on October 2, 2025. On its opening day, the film managed to earn approximately ₹9.25 crore net domestically, which is considered a decent start, especially given the competition from other big releases like "Kantara Chapter 1."
First Day Box Office Performance:
-
Collection: Estimated ₹9.25 crore in India net
-
Occupancy: About 34% overall across theaters, with higher evening and night shows
-
Worldwide: The film is expected to have a significant global collection, although exact figures are yet to be announced
While this opening is promising, it is notably lower than the opening days of some of Varun Dhawan’s previous films like "Judwaa 2" and "Street Dancer 3D," which grossed over ₹9 crore on their first days. The film's performance is still under observation to see if positive word of mouth will help it grow over the weekend.
Interestingly, "Kantara Chapter 1" dominated the box office with an incredible opening of approximately Rs. 60 crore, setting a high benchmark. Despite this, "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari" is expected to hold steady or improve as audiences respond positively to its music and storyline.
Overall, the film starts on a promising note but will need strong continued support to compete with the blockbuster success of "Kantara" and other releases.
