Renault Kiger Price Hiked by Rs 5,000; New Starting Price Rs 6.15 Lakh

The country’s cheapest compact SUV, Renault Kiger, has become slightly more expensive with a price increase of Rs 5,000. The starting price for the base variant has risen from Rs 6.10 lakh to Rs 6.15 lakh. Similarly, the petrol automatic variant’s price has increased from Rs 7.35 lakh to Rs 7.40 lakh, marking a total hike of 0.82 percent.

Renault Kiger is powered by two petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 72 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine delivering 100 bhp with torque figures of 152 Nm or 160 Nm for the CVT variant. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual for all variants, with AMT and CVT available for the naturally aspirated and turbo petrol variants respectively.

The Kiger offers a range of features such as steering-mounted controls, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a reverse parking camera. The RXL variant is the most affordable SUV with a touchscreen infotainment system. The top RXT (O) trim now comes with new 16-inch flex wheels, while the RXZ variant gains a remote engine start feature.

Additional comforts include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, parking sensors, a cooled glovebox, cruise control, wireless charging, and advanced internet connectivity. Safety features are robust with 4 airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, a 17.78 cm reconfigurable TFT instrument cluster, wireless smartphone replication, and ISOFIX anchorage for child seats. The Kiger holds a 4-star safety rating and includes pretensioners, load limiters on seat belts, impact-sensing door unlock, and speed-sensing door locks.

This modest price increase reflects minor updates and continuous enhancements to maintain the Kiger’s competitive position in the entry-level SUV segment.
