The Rajasthan government has also given employees and pensioners a major gift before Diwali. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has given employees and pensioners a Diwali gift by approving a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) under the seventh pay scale.
This increase in DA
will increase the dearness allowance (DA) from 60 percent to 63 percent. The Bhajan Lal government has also decided to provide an ad hoc bonus to approximately 600,000 eligible employees. The DA increase will benefit over 700,000 employees and over 500,000 pensioners in the state. This move by the Bhajan Lal government will impose an additional financial burden of approximately ₹820 crore on the state government in the current financial year.
The increased rates of dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) will be effective July 1, 2026. The government will deposit the arrears for the four months from July to October into the employees' General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts. The increased dearness allowance will be paid in cash to employees along with their November salaries.
Around 6 lakh eligible employees will get ad-hoc bonus
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also approved giving ad-hoc bonus to around 6 lakh eligible employees. Its benefit will be given to the employees at Pay Matrix Level L-12 or below or having grade pay of Rs 4800 or less. This will put an additional financial burden of around Rs 406 crore on the government in the current financial year. 75 percent of the bonus amount will be given in cash and the remaining 25 percent will be deposited in the GPF accounts of the employees.
