Rajasthan Budget 2026: New colleges to open in Balotra and Bharatpur; Sikar & Jaipur students also got a major gift in the Rajasthan budget

The Rajasthan budget includes major decisions to strengthen higher and technical education. The expansion of new colleges, new subjects, modern trades, and research facilities is aimed at making the education system more employable and modern.
Jaipur. This year's Rajasthan budget places special emphasis on strengthening higher education and technical education. Extensive announcements have been made to open new colleges, expand facilities in existing ones, introduce new subjects, and introduce modern trades in ITI and polytechnic institutes.
New institutions
New Colleges – Padru (Siwana), Balotra
Agricultural Colleges – Kanawar (Bayana), Bharatpur
Upgradation of Colleges from UG to PG – Shrimadhopur (Sikar), Kalyanpur, Bagru (Jaipur)
Expansion of facilities in universities and colleges
Over ₹100 crore will be spent on building laboratory rooms in 106 colleges over the next two years.
IPR-TT (Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Transfer) cells will be established in 50 higher education institutions.
A conference hall will be constructed at Government College, Dudhu.
New faculties and subjects
Science Faculty and Girls College in Bansur-Kotputli, Behror.
Science and Commerce Faculty in Vidyadhar Nagar (Jaipur) Girls College.
New subjects at UG level
Girls College, Vidyadharnagar- Sociology, Sanskrit, Painting.
New subjects at PG level
Geography, History, Hindi Literature in Bhimsen Chaudhary Government College, Lunkaransar. Girls College, Vidyadharnagar- English, Hindi, Political Science, History in Jaipur . Zoology, Geography at SBK College, Jaisalmer. Ecology, Zoology, Botany and Business Administration, E.F.M.A in Seth Raghunal Kothari Government College-Rajsamand. Political Science and Hindi Literature in Government College, Niwai-Tonk. Establishment of Bhagwan Virsa Munda Research Chair in Kota University.
New trades in ITI
Advanced CNC Machining Technician and Semi-Conductor Technician in all equivalent level ITIs.
Mechanic Electric Vehicle trade in Jaipur, Bhilwara, Kota, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Alwar.
Fiber to Home Technician trade in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Ajmer, Bikaner, Pali, Sikar.
Wind Plant Technician trade in Bandhera, Ramgarh, Gudhagali-Bandhera, Jaisalmer and Pokhran.
Infrastructure Development in Polytechnic Colleges
ICT labs will be set up in 50 polytechnic colleges including Ajmer, Alwar, Hanumangarh, Bhilwara, Bharatpur, Seesa in the next two years.
