It's worth noting that this insurance, provided by IRCTC, costs less than one rupee, but can cover up to 10 lakh rupees in the event of accidental death or permanent total disability. Travel insurance is an optional feature offered when booking railway tickets.

Under this policy, insurance amounts are paid under different circumstances, depending on the terms of the policy. This includes a maximum of ₹10 lakh for accidental death, a maximum of ₹10 lakh for permanent total disability, a maximum of ₹7.5 lakh for permanent partial disability, and up to ₹2 lakh for medical treatment in case of accidental injury.
