The Subordinate Courts Recruitment Society (SSSC) under the Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued a notification (Advertisement No. 37C/SSSC/PB/2026) for direct recruitment to 1,270 posts of Clerk in various District Courts of Punjab.

Eligibility and Age Limit:

Educational Qualification: Graduation (BA, B.Sc or equivalent degree) from a recognized University. Candidate must have studied Punjabi as a subject at 10th (Matriculation) level and must have knowledge of Computer.

Age Limit: 18 to 37 years as on 1st January 2026 (relaxation for reserved categories as per rules).

Salary & Application Fee:

Pay Scale: Pay Level-5 (₹29,200)

Fee: ₹1,200 for General category; ₹710 for SC/BC/OBC/ESM/EWS candidates of Punjab; and ₹875 for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) candidates.

Selection Process:

Computer Based Test (CBT): The exam will be a 2-hour paper carrying 100 marks. It will consist of General Knowledge (50 marks), English Objective (20 marks), and English Subjective (30 marks - Essay, Letter Writing, and Translation). A minimum of 33% marks in each subject and 40% aggregate marks are required. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Computer Test (CPT): Those who qualify the written examination will have to appear for a qualifying CPT consisting of a Spreadsheet Test of 10 marks (minimum 4 marks) and an English Typing Test at a speed of 30 words per minute.
