India has achieved a historic milestone in semiconductor technology. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav presented the country's first Made in India semiconductor chip to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
India has achieved a major milestone in semiconductor technology. Today, the first semiconductor chip made in the country has been launched. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav presented the first chip made in the country to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this occasion, he also presented the Vikram 32-bit processor and test chips of four other approved projects. It has been prepared in ISRO's semiconductor lab.
Today (on 2 September) Prime Minister Modi inaugurated Semicon India 2025 in Delhi . On this occasion, IT Minister Vaishnav said that a few years ago, the 'India Semiconductor Mission' was started with the visionary thinking of the Prime Minister. In just three and a half years, India has attracted the attention of the world.

Digital diamond is a chip: PM Modi
On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that just like oil is called black gold, semiconductor chips are digital diamonds. The progress of the 21st century is based on these chips. A small chip will bring big progress and innovation in the coming times. Today the whole world is expressing confidence in India and is ready to build the future of semiconductors together with India.
He further said, when the world economy is facing many concerns and challenges related to economic interests, India has still registered a growth rate of 7.8% in the first quarter of this year. This growth is clearly visible in every sector like manufacturing, service, agriculture and construction.

Prime Minister Modi said, India is now moving rapidly from a backend role to becoming a full-stack semiconductor nation. We welcome all investors with open arms. The day is not far when the whole world will say - Designed in India, Made in India and Trusted by the World. This will become India's biggest identity in the future.
Today, work is progressing rapidly on five semiconductor units in India. Minister Vaishnav said that handing over the first Made-in-India chip to PM Modi today is a major achievement in this journey and in the coming times, India will become stronger in this field.
Semicon India 2025
The Semicon India 2025 conference has started today and will continue till September 4. Around 2,500 delegates from more than 48 countries are attending this conference. Semiconductor fabrication, advanced packaging projects, artificial intelligence, research, smart manufacturing and new investment opportunities will be discussed in detail here.
According to information received from the government, production of chips will start from two more new plants in the country in the coming 2-3 months. Also, work is being done rapidly on the manufacturing of four more semicon units. Its benefits will be clearly visible on India's digital economy, electronics manufacturing and new employment opportunities.
