PM-KISAN 24th Instalment Released: Over 9.34 Crore Farmers Receive ₹2,000 Directly in Their Bank Accounts

The Central Government has released the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, providing financial assistance to millions of eligible farming families across India.

On October 30, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released more than ₹18,690 crore through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. More than 9.34 crore eligible farmers benefited from this instalment, offering financial support ahead of the upcoming agricultural expenses.

How Much Money Do Farmers Receive Under PM-KISAN?

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmer families receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually.

The amount is distributed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each, credited directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts.

The scheme aims to provide additional financial support to farming families for agricultural inputs and household requirements.

How to Check Whether You Have Received the 24th Instalment

Farmers can check their payment status online without visiting a government office.

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official PM-KISAN website at pmkisan.gov.in.

  2. Select the 'Know Your Status' option.

  3. Enter your registration number.

  4. Complete the verification process as instructed.

  5. Check the payment details displayed on the screen.

The portal provides information about instalment payments and the beneficiary's application status.

Is e-KYC Mandatory to Receive PM-KISAN Benefits?

Yes. e-KYC is mandatory for registered PM-KISAN beneficiaries.

Farmers who have not completed the process should do so through the official PM-KISAN portal or mobile application. Biometric-based e-KYC is also available through authorised Common Service Centres and other approved channels.

Completing e-KYC helps verify beneficiary identities and reduces the possibility of payments being delayed because of incomplete verification.

Why Might Your PM-KISAN Instalment Be on Hold?

Not every registered farmer automatically qualifies for every instalment. Payments may be withheld if eligibility or verification issues are identified.

Some important reasons include:

  • Incomplete e-KYC verification.

  • Incorrect bank account or Aadhaar details.

  • Problems with land-record verification.

  • Suspected eligibility violations requiring physical verification.

  • Multiple members of the same family receiving benefits where the scheme's rules do not permit it.

The government has also identified certain suspected cases involving land acquired after February 1, 2019, and multiple family members receiving benefits. Payments in such cases may remain temporarily withheld until physical verification is completed.

Who Is Eligible for the PM-KISAN Scheme?

The scheme is intended to provide financial assistance to eligible landholding farmer families.

However, certain categories are excluded, including institutional landholders and specified categories of serving or retired government employees, income-tax payers and professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers and chartered accountants, subject to the scheme guidelines.

Farmers should check the official eligibility conditions before applying.

Important Advice for Farmers

Farmers should regularly check their beneficiary status, complete e-KYC and ensure that their bank and land-record details are accurate.

If the latest instalment has not reached your account, check the reason displayed on the official portal before submitting a complaint or visiting a Common Service Centre.
