Pitru Paksha 2026: Don't donate these 5 things during Pitru Paksha, or it will have a negative impact on your life

Along with Shraddha and Tarpan, there is a special tradition of charitable giving during Pitru Paksha. According to religious beliefs, donating food, clothing, and other useful items to Brahmins, the poor, and the needy, according to your ability, during these 16 days pleases the ancestors and bestows their blessings.
However, according to the scriptures, donating everything during Pitru Paksha is not considered appropriate. It is advised to avoid donating certain items, as doing so may result in adverse consequences or Pitru Dosh instead of auspicious results.
What should not be donated during Pitru Paksha?
Stale Food: Never donate stale, rotten, or spoiled food to a needy person or a Brahmin. The food should always be fresh and sattvic.

Iron utensils: Donating iron items or utensils increases the influence of Saturn and is considered inauspicious.
Slippers: - It is said that donating slippers increases the effect of Rahu, which can cause unrest and ancestral curse in the house.

Old and torn clothes : Always donate clean, new, or well-kept clothes. Giving away torn or old clothes does not bring any merit.
Broom : - Broom is related to Goddess Lakshmi, hence donating broom during Pitru Paksha may result in loss of money.
