PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has made three demands to the ICC to end the boycott call. He has demanded a higher revenue share from the world body and the resumption of bilateral cricket with India.
Pakistan Placed Three Demands Before the ICC: Dark clouds continue to loom over the India vs. Pakistan match at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. Pakistan has refused to play against India in the tournament. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet provided written information to the International Cricket Council (ICC). Therefore, it is expected that the India vs. Pakistan match will take place on February 15th.
The ICC is also making every effort to hold the biggest India vs. Pakistan match of the T20 World Cup 2026. On Sunday, February 8th, a meeting was held between ICC and PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, which was also attended by the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Pakistan has placed three major demands before the ICC to end the boycott of the match against India. One of these demands is one that India will never agree to.
Pakistan placed these three demands before the ICC
According to a report by Telecom Asia Sport, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has placed three conditions before the ICC to end the boycott call for the match against India. He demanded a higher revenue share from the world body and the resumption of bilateral cricket with India. Furthermore, he also demanded that Indian players join forces with Pakistani players in the 2026 T20 World Cup.
First demand – Pakistan wants more revenue from the world body.
Second demand – Bilateral cricket with India should resume.
Third demand: Indian players should join hands with Pakistani players in the T20 World Cup 2026.
India will never accept Pakistan's second demand.
India will never agree to Pakistan's second demand to the ICC. The last bilateral series between India and Pakistan was played in 2012. Due to political tensions, the two teams have played against each other only in ICC tournaments for the past 16 years. India's stance against Pakistan has hardened further following last year's Pahalgam terrorist attack in India. Following this attack, Team India has stopped shaking hands with Pakistani players since the 2025 Asia Cup. Even if Pakistan's remaining two demands are met, resuming bilateral series seems highly unlikely.
