New Tata Punch Launched: Completely Updated Inside-Out, Starts at ₹5.59 Lakh

Tata Motors has officially launched the facelifted Tata Punch, marking the most comprehensive update since the model’s debut in October 2021. The refreshed Punch brings bold exterior tweaks, a tech-loaded cabin, stronger powertrain options, and a big leap in safety.

The new Tata Punch is priced from ₹5.59 lakh (ex-showroom) and is also India’s first iCNG AMT SUV in this segment. Tata claims a 0–100 kmph time of 11.1 seconds for the petrol variants.

What’s new inside and out

The cabin has been thoroughly modernised with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new steering wheel featuring the Tata logo, and touch-based AC controls below the screen. The dashboard layout feels more premium and tech-forward than before.

On the outside, the Punch now sports updated LED lighting, revised design elements inspired by the Punch EV, and fresh colour options.

Engine and gearbox options

The 2026 Tata Punch continues with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 88 PS. In a major upgrade, Tata has added a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 120 PS, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The lineup also includes iCNG variants, including the new iCNG AMT, offering more convenience for CNG buyers.

Safety takes centre stage

Safety has been significantly upgraded. All variants now get six airbags as standard. Other safety features include:

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

  • ABS with EBD

  • Hill Hold Assist

  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

  • 360-degree camera

  • Rear parking sensors

The new Punch has also earned a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. Tata demonstrated its strength with a 50 kmph frontal crash test, where the structure remained stable and all doors opened post-impact.
