New-Gen Renault Duster Arrives in 60 Days: Three Big Updates That Will Surprise Buyers

The countdown has officially begun for the all-new Renault Duster, which is set to make its India comeback on January 26, 2026. Once among the most popular SUVs in the country, the Duster was known for its tough design and strong diesel performance. Even though it was discontinued a few years ago, the SUV continues to command strong demand in the used-car market. With Renault confirming its return, excitement among SUV lovers is rising again.

Design and Dimensions
The upcoming Duster is built on Renault’s CNF-B platform, which offers a much stronger and more modern architecture than the previous generation. The new model looks bigger, wider, and more muscular, giving it an enhanced road presence. The India-bound version is expected to carry the same overall design while retaining the compact footprint that helps keep its pricing competitive.

Interior and Features
Inside, the next-gen Duster gets an all-new layout with a larger floating touchscreen infotainment system. The global model also features advanced safety tech such as ADAS, a 360-degree camera setup, a roomier cabin, and increased boot capacity. However, it remains to be seen which of these features will make it to the India-spec version.

Engine and Performance
For India, Renault is likely to offer a 1.2-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine generating around 128 bhp. This setup is expected to keep the SUV affordable while supporting local manufacturing. Globally, the Duster also comes with a full-hybrid powertrain that pairs a 1.6-liter engine with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery, but this version is unlikely to be introduced in India.
