In a shocking incident from Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district, an elderly couple was forcefully evicted and their home locked by recovery agents of a private finance company—all for missing just one month's EMI.

The disturbing event unfolded in Banganapalli village, part of Singarayakonda Mandal, where a man named Potluri Venkatraj had taken a loan of Rs 2.5 lakh from Five Star Finance Company, mortgaging his house to cover family expenses.

Paid Most of the Loan, Still Thrown Out

According to the family, Venkatraj had already repaid Rs 1.70 lakh of the loan and was continuing to pay the rest in monthly instalments. However, due to financial hardship, he missed the payment for just one month.

Despite his plea for a brief extension, the finance company’s recovery agents stormed the house, beat him, threw out the family members, and locked the house, leaving his elderly parents—Potluri Venkateshwarlu and Venkaiyamma—homeless.

“We Are Sitting Helplessly Outside Our Own Home”

The elderly parents have now filed a complaint, seeking justice. They say their son, who works as a porter in Hyderabad, regularly sends money for installments. But this month, due to unavoidable circumstances, the payment was delayed.

In tears, they told local reporters, “We have nowhere to go. They threw us out of our own home. How is this justice for a one-month delay?”
