MG Majestor Set to Challenge Fortuner, Launch Scheduled for February 12

MG Motor India is set to launch its new full-size SUV, the MG Majestor, in the Indian market on February 12, 2026. The SUV was first unveiled at the 2025 India Mobility Show and has since been spotted multiple times during road testing, indicating that it is nearing production readiness.

Once launched, the MG Majestor will compete directly with established players such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. While official prices will be announced closer to the launch date, the Majestor is expected to be priced between ₹39.57 lakh and ₹44.03 lakh (ex-showroom).

Exterior design highlights
In terms of styling, the MG Majestor adopts a more rugged and aggressive design compared to the MG Gloster. At the front, it features a redesigned grille finished in gloss black, vertically stacked LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, and a reworked bumper with black cladding and silver accents. The bonnet, doors and fenders largely retain the sheet metal seen on the Gloster.

The SUV rides on 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with a five-spoke design. Additional exterior elements include pronounced cladding around the wheel arches, black roof rails and door handles, a black rear bumper with a faux silver skid plate, connected LED taillamps and dual exhaust tips positioned on either side.

Expected interior and features
While MG has not yet revealed the cabin design, the Majestor is expected to come loaded with premium features. These may include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker premium audio system, and three-zone automatic climate control.

Other anticipated features include wireless phone charging, a three-spoke steering wheel, a heated front passenger seat, and a driver’s seat offering heating, cooling, massage and power adjustment. Advanced technology is also expected, such as a 360-degree camera system, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake with auto-hold and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Engine and performance
Under the hood, the MG Majestor is likely to borrow its powertrain from the Gloster. It is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This engine is capable of producing 216 bhp of power and 479 Nm of peak torque.

MG is also expected to offer the Majestor with an all-wheel-drive option, enhancing its off-road capability and positioning it as a strong alternative to established ladder-frame SUVs in the segment.

Conclusion
With bold styling, a powerful diesel engine and a long list of premium features, the MG Majestor is shaping up to be a serious contender in the full-size SUV segment. Its February 12 launch will put it head-to-head with the Toyota Fortuner and other premium rivals, making it one of the most anticipated SUV launches of 2026.
