MG Magester SUV Teaser Out: Set to Challenge Fortuner, Grand Launch on February 12

MG has released the first official teaser of its upcoming Magester SUV, billed as India’s longest, widest, and tallest SUV. The teaser highlights the Majestic Matrix grille, falcon-style LED DRLs, and split headlight units, giving the SUV a bold and muscular stance.

Global Debut and Platform

The Magester was first unveiled at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025, alongside MG’s Cyberster and M9. While the Cyberster and M9 are already available at MG outlets, the Magester is expected to become the brand’s most premium SUV in India.

Built on the Maxus D90 platform, the SUV promises a blend of ruggedness and refinement.

Engine and Performance

  • Likely powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine

  • Output: 213 bhp and 478 Nm torque

  • Expected automatic transmission

  • A selectable 4WD system may also be offered (yet to be confirmed)

This combination suggests a serious Fortuner rival in terms of power and off-road capability.

Features and Technology

The Magester is expected to come loaded with premium features:

  • 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment

  • Fully digital instrument cluster

  • Connected car technology

  • Premium audio system

  • Power and ventilated seats

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Three-zone climate control

  • Level 2 ADAS suite and 360-degree camera system

With this feature-packed offering, MG is positioning the Magester as a luxury SUV with strong road presence and advanced safety tech.

Launch Date

The SUV is set for its grand entry on February 12, and the market eagerly awaits its pricing and detailed specifications. Early teasers suggest that MG is aiming to take on the Toyota Fortuner and other premium SUVs head-on.
