LPG Shortage: Government provides major relief on commercial cylinders, these people will benefit

Following the gas shortages caused by the Iran war, India also faced this problem. People were unable to get LPG. Now, the central government has given a significant gift to commercial cylinder consumers. The government has decided to establish a new formula for the allocation of commercial cylinders. Under this, sectors crucial to the economy, including pharma, food, and agriculture, will receive relief.

What has been said:
According to media reports, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas told IANS that now sectors like pharma, food, polymer, agriculture, packaging, paint, uranium, heavy water, steel, seeds, metal, ceramic, foundry, forging, glass and aerosol will get bulk LPG.

These industries will receive LPG for 70 percent of their pre-March 2026 consumption, although the overall limit for the entire sector is set at 0.2 TMT (thousand metric tons) per day. According to the government, factories that cannot replace LPG with natural gas will receive LPG first.
