LPG Rule Change: There will be a major change in LPG rules from July 1, these customers will not get gas cylinders

Important news for LPG consumers. Starting July 1st, several rules related to LPG cylinders will change. This could result in the loss of many consumers' gas connections. Customers who currently have both PNG and LPG connections will be affected. Customers who haven't completed the e-KYC process will also face difficulties obtaining LPG cylinders starting July 1st.

Last month, the central government mandated the implementation of the LPG Supply and Distribution Regulation Amendment Order 2026. Under this rule, consumers with PNG connections will have their Indane, HP, and Bharat Gas connections disconnected within 30 days. If consumers voluntarily cancel their LPG connection, they will be given a coupon to use for future LPG connections if needed.

In March, the central government issued a notification requiring LPG consumers in areas with PNG access to obtain a PNG connection within three months, or their LPG connection will be cut off. Therefore, if you have a PNG connection in your area, take advantage of this facility as soon as possible. The three-month period set in March expires in June 2026.

Secondly, the government has made e-KYC mandatory for all LPG connection holders. All LPG connection holders must complete their e-KYC process before June 30, 2026. Failure to do so could result in their gas connection being disconnected. This could also cause problems with booking. However, this process is not required for those who have already completed the e-KYC process.
