Increasing LPG imports from America
India is now buying more LPG gas from the US. Tensions in the Gulf region and risks related to the Strait of Hormuz are driving shifts in LPG supply sources. According to Kpler data, India imported approximately 0.89 million tons of LPG from the US in July. So far in August, approximately 0.62 million tons of LPG has come from the US. US gas accounted for approximately 73% of August's total LPG imports.
Meanwhile, LPG supplies from the UAE and Qatar have decreased. In August, approximately 140,000 tons of LPG arrived from the UAE and approximately 60,000 tons from Qatar. No LPG imports were made from Saudi Arabia in both July and August.
