Legendary Pakistani cricketer's son accused of raping maid at farmhouse; FIR filed

Suleman Qadir, son of legendary Pakistani cricketer Abdul Qadir, has been accused of sexual assault. These allegations have been made by none other than his housekeeper. Police have registered an FIR in the matter and Suleman Qadir has been detained for questioning.

According to the complaint, Suleman Qadir, son of legendary Pakistani leg-spinner Abdul Qadir, forcibly took a housemaid to his farmhouse and raped her there. The incident occurred on January 23, 2026.

The woman stated that she worked as a domestic help at Suleman's home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In her statement to the police, she stated that on January 22nd, Suleman called her and told her that she would be required to do cleaning work at his farmhouse the next morning. The woman stated that after arriving at the farmhouse, Suleman began harassing her and even alleged that he had forced himself on her. The domestic help stated that the former cricketer's son forcibly raped her and that strict action should be taken against him.

A police officer stated that he has been sent for a medical examination. Further confirmation regarding the alleged sexual assault case will be made only after the report is received. 41-year-old Suleman Qadir is a former cricketer himself, having played 26 first-class and 40 List A matches between 2005 and 2013.

Suleman's father, Abdul Qadir, was a star cricketer of his time. He played 67 Test matches for Pakistan, taking 236 wickets, and 104 ODIs, taking 132 wickets. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 63.
