Codenamed SP3i, the second-generation Kia Seltos is gearing up for its global unveiling on December 10. While the company hasn’t officially revealed the full specifications, the SUV is expected to arrive in showrooms in the first half of 2026. In the mid-size SUV segment, the new Seltos will take on competitors like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Toyota Hyryder, the upcoming Tata Sierra, new Renault Duster, and Nissan Tecton.
Though detailed specs are still under wraps, spy shots and leaked reports have revealed key upgrades. Here are the major changes expected in the 2026 Seltos compared to the current model.
Bigger dimensions
The 2026 Seltos will be longer and wider than the current version, which should translate into better cabin space, especially improved legroom and shoulder room. The current model measures 4,365 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,645 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. The updated version is expected to surpass these numbers.
Telluride-inspired design
Spy images suggest that the new Seltos will adopt Kia’s latest styling language, similar to the new Telluride. The stance looks more upright, and the SUV appears boxier than before. Expect a redesigned front fascia, updated alloy wheels, and a new bumper layout.
Upgraded interiors and features
Inside, the Seltos is likely to get a refreshed dashboard design, a curved dual-screen display, updated controls, and new upholstery. Features like ventilated front seats, an 8-way power driver seat, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and multiple airbags will continue, with additional enhancements expected to improve overall value.
Same engine options
Engine options are expected to remain unchanged:
• 1.5L NA petrol – 115 bhp
• 1.5L turbo petrol – 160 bhp
• 1.5L diesel – 116 bhp
New 7-speed automatic for diesel
Reports suggest that the diesel version may replace its 6-speed automatic with a new 7-speed automatic gearbox.
Hybrid variant in 2027
Kia is expected to introduce a hybrid version of the Seltos in 2027, likely using the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine.
Price hike expected
With a bigger body, new design, and updated features, the 2026 Kia Seltos is expected to see a noticeable price increase. The current lineup ranges from ₹10.79 lakh to ₹19.81 lakh (ex-showroom).
