Kia Launches Its Smallest Electric Car: EV2 Offers Up to 448 km Range on a Single Charge

Kia has officially unveiled its smallest and most affordable electric car, the Kia EV2, expanding its rapidly growing electric vehicle lineup. Positioned below the EV3, the new EV2 marks Kia’s entry into the B-segment electric SUV space.

The Kia EV2 will be manufactured at the company’s Zilina plant in Slovakia and has been introduced exclusively for the European market for now. Kia has not yet shared any details regarding a possible India launch.


Kia EV2: Variants and Range

The EV2 will be offered in:

  • Standard-range version

  • Long-range version

  • Sporty GT-Line variant

The long-range version is claimed to deliver up to 448 km of range on a single charge, making it a strong option in the compact EV segment.


Kia EV2: Dimensions and Exterior Design

Despite being the smallest EV in Kia’s portfolio, the EV2 follows the brand’s modern EV design language inspired by larger models.

The interior of the EV2 is inspired by Kia’s “picnic box” design concept, aimed at creating a bright, airy, and spacious cabin feel.

Key interior features include:

  • Dual 12.3-inch screens (instrument cluster + infotainment)

  • A separate 5.3-inch display for climate controls

  • Kia’s new ccNC Lite software platform

  • Over-the-air (OTA) updates (excluding maps)

  • Support for downloadable in-car applications

With the EV2, Kia is clearly targeting urban buyers looking for a compact, tech-loaded electric SUV with strong range and practicality. While its debut is currently limited to Europe, the EV2 strengthens Kia’s global EV strategy and could eventually make its way to other markets.
