Kanpur Lamborghini Crash: Who Is Shivam Mishra, the Businessman’s Son at the Centre of the Case

A high-speed accident involving a luxury Lamborghini on Kanpur’s VIP Road has brought renewed attention to Shivam Mishra, son of prominent tobacco businessman K.K. Mishra, after six people were injured in the incident on Sunday afternoon.

According to eyewitness accounts, the accident occurred around 3.15 pm in the Gwaltoli police station area when a black Lamborghini bearing a Delhi registration number allegedly lost control near Rev-3 on VIP Road. The vehicle reportedly mounted the pavement and struck pedestrians and motorists standing along the roadside.

Several people, including Sonu Tripathi, Vishal and Taufiq, sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital. Witnesses said the impact was severe, with a motorcycle being dragged and run over by the vehicle. One rider was reportedly thrown several metres due to the force of the collision.

Crowd gathers, police intervene

Following the crash, a large crowd gathered at the spot, leading to a tense situation. Police personnel reached the scene and escorted the driver, identified as Shivam Mishra, away for his safety. The Lamborghini was seized, and Mishra was taken for a medical examination.

Some of the injured later alleged that individuals described as bouncers linked to the businessman misbehaved with them at the police station when they went to file a complaint. Police officials have not yet publicly responded to these allegations.

Background of the Mishra family

Shivam Mishra is known for his affluent lifestyle and social prominence in Kanpur. His father, K.K. Mishra, came under the Income Tax Department’s scanner in March 2024, when raids at multiple locations allegedly uncovered significant undisclosed assets.

According to official disclosures at the time, the raids led to the detection of alleged tax evasion amounting to around ₹150 crore, along with luxury watches and jewellery valued at several crores. Investigators also reportedly found a fleet of high-end vehicles collectively valued at over ₹100 crore, including a ₹16-crore Rolls-Royce at a Delhi residence, besides Lamborghinis, Ferraris and McLarens.

Shivam Mishra had earlier drawn public attention for hosting a high-profile birthday celebration attended by several film personalities, an event that reportedly contributed to increased scrutiny by tax authorities.

Investigation underway

The injured victims have submitted a written complaint at Gwaltoli police station, seeking strict action against the driver. Police said the matter is under investigation and all aspects are being examined, including reports suggesting that the driver may have suffered a medical emergency while driving.

Officials said further action will be taken based on medical reports, witness statements, and forensic examination of the vehicle. The condition of the injured remains under medical supervision.
