Kanpur Dental Technician Found Dead at Home While Wife Attended Wedding, Suicide Mystery Deepens

A tragic and puzzling suicide case has come to light from the Kalyanpur area of Kanpur, where a 36-year-old dental technician was found hanging inside his home while his wife was away attending a family wedding. The incident has left the family and neighbourhood in shock, as no clear reason has yet emerged.

The deceased, Madhukar Ranjan, lived in Lavkush Puram under the Kalyanpur police station limits. His wife, Nisha, discovered the incident late Sunday night after returning from the wedding. Police and forensic teams reached the spot soon after and began an investigation.

Wife Was Away for Family Function

According to Nisha, a wedding was scheduled in the family on Saturday. She had asked Madhukar to accompany her, but he told her he would close his dental shop and join her later. Eventually, he asked her to go alone. When she called him late that night, he refused to come.

On Sunday afternoon, Nisha again tried to contact her husband, but his phone remained unanswered. Growing anxious, she returned home late in the evening and found the house locked from inside.

Body Found After Neighbours Break In

When repeated knocking received no response, neighbours were called for help. They entered the house through the roof, where Madhukar was found hanging from a noose. Police were immediately informed.

No Suicide Note Recovered

Kalyanpur police and forensic experts examined the scene but did not recover any suicide note. Inspector Santosh Singh said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination and that all angles are being investigated. Family members have not raised any suspicion so far but remain unable to understand what could have driven Madhukar to take such a step.

Family and Neighbourhood in Mourning

Madhukar’s sudden death has devastated his family. His 10-year-old daughter, Indu, a student of Navodaya Vidyalaya, is inconsolable. Neighbours described Madhukar as friendly and cheerful, making the incident even more difficult for those who knew him to comprehend.

Police said further clarity would emerge after the post-mortem report and continued inquiry.
