Ingredients for making Jamun Chutney

  • Jamun (black plum) – 1 cup (seedless and chopped)
  • Mint leaves – ½ cup
  • Fresh coriander leaves – ½ cup
  • Green chilli – 1 (adjust as per taste)
  • Roasted cumin powder – ½ tsp
  • Black salt – ½ tsp (or as per taste)
  • Common salt – a pinch
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Water – 2-3 tbsp (as required for mixing)

How to make chutney

  • Prepare the berries:

Wash the jamun thoroughly. Remove the seeds and chop the pulp into thick pieces.

  • Blend all the ingredients:

Add jamun pulp, mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chillies, roasted cumin powder, black salt, normal salt and lemon juice in a blender.

  • Add water:

Add 2-3 tablespoons of water to aid blending. Blend until you get a smooth paste.

  • Taste and adjust:

Taste the chutney and adjust salt or lemon juice as needed.

  • Serve fresh:

Serve immediately with parathas, pakodas, chaat or any Indian meal.
