IPL Record: Sunil Narine Becomes Only Player to Bat at Every Position from 1 to 11

The Indian Premier League, now in its 19th season, has witnessed countless records over the years, but one unique feat stands out. Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder Sunil Narine holds the rare distinction of being the only player in IPL history to have batted at every position—from opener to number 11.

Narine has played 122 innings in the IPL, and across these appearances, he has been utilized in every possible batting slot. He has most frequently batted in the top order, appearing 66 times as an opener or at number two. Interestingly, he has also been used multiple times in the lower order, including 13 innings at number eight.

Looking at his other batting positions, Narine has batted once at number three, eight times at number four, and seven times at number five. He has also appeared six times at number seven, nine times at number nine, eight times at number ten, and three times at number eleven, showcasing his remarkable versatility within the team setup.

In terms of overall performance, Sunil Narine has featured in 189 IPL matches and scored 1,780 runs in his 122 innings, including one century and seven half-centuries. He has spent his entire IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders since making his debut in 2012.

Apart from his batting achievements, Narine is also close to another major milestone with the ball. He is just a few wickets away from reaching the 200-wicket mark in the IPL, further cementing his status as one of the league’s most impactful all-rounders.
