Apple's next-generation iPhone lineup is already generating plenty of buzz, with leaks suggesting that the company could introduce some major changes this year. The rumored lineup includes the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple's first foldable iPhone, which is reportedly being referred to as the iPhone Ultra.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are rumored to launch around September 9, 2026, while the standard iPhone 18 could reportedly arrive later. From a smaller Dynamic Island and a new-generation chip to camera improvements and a possible foldable design, here's everything the leaks have claimed so far.
iPhone 18 Pro Series Could Be More Expensive
According to leaked pricing estimates, the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro could cost around ₹1,44,900 in India, while its US price is rumored to be $1,299.
The 256GB iPhone 18 Pro Max could reportedly be priced at around ₹1,69,900 in India, with a rumored US price of $1,499.
The rumored foldable iPhone Ultra could sit in a completely different price category. Its 256GB variant is reportedly expected to cost around ₹2,49,900 in India, while the estimated US price could be around $2,400.
However, these figures are based entirely on leaks and should not be considered Apple's official prices.
Smaller Dynamic Island Could Change the Front Design
The iPhone 18 Pro could reportedly feature a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, while the Pro Max may come with a larger 6.9-inch panel.
Both models are expected to retain Apple's 120Hz ProMotion technology and LTPO display technology. Peak brightness could reportedly reach up to 3,000 nits.
One of the most noticeable changes could be a smaller Dynamic Island. Reports suggest Apple may move some Face ID components underneath the display, potentially allowing the pill-shaped cutout to become smaller.
The Pro models could also arrive in new colour options, with leaked shades including silver, dark grey, light blue and dark cherry. The rear design is also rumored to receive a more unified appearance.
A20 Pro Chip Could Bring a Major Performance Boost
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be powered by the A20 Pro chip, which is rumored to use TSMC's 2nm manufacturing technology.
The new chip could focus on improving both performance and power efficiency. Leaks also point towards 12GB of RAM, a new C2 modem and an N2 chip that could improve Wi-Fi and satellite connectivity.
Another major rumored upgrade is a 5,000mAh battery, which would represent a significant increase if the claim proves accurate.
The phones are also expected to run iOS 27 and could feature an improved LTPO+ display and vapor-chamber cooling system for better thermal management.
Variable-Aperture Camera Could Be the Big Upgrade
The camera system could receive one of the most interesting upgrades on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
According to leaks, its 48MP primary camera could feature a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0. A variable aperture could allow the camera to control the amount of light entering the lens more effectively and offer greater control over depth of field.
The main camera could reportedly be joined by a 48MP ultrawide and a 48MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom.
The iPhone 18 Pro is also rumored to feature 48MP main, ultrawide and telephoto cameras, although the variable-aperture system may remain exclusive to the Pro Max.
An 18MP front camera is also rumored across the Pro lineup.
iPhone Ultra Could Be Apple's First Foldable
The most dramatic rumored addition to the lineup is the iPhone Ultra, which could become Apple's first foldable smartphone.
Leaks suggest that the device could use a book-style design similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series. It may feature a 5.3- to 5.5-inch cover display and a larger 7.6- to 7.8-inch internal OLED screen, with both panels reportedly supporting 120Hz ProMotion.
When unfolded, the phone is rumored to be just 4.5–4.8mm thick, while its folded thickness could be around 9–9.5mm.
The foldable could reportedly use a combination of titanium and aluminium, along with a liquid-metal hinge designed to minimise the appearance of the crease.
Foldable iPhone Could Get a Huge Battery
The rumored iPhone Ultra could also receive the A20 Pro chip and run iOS 27.
Its camera setup is expected to include 48MP main and 48MP ultrawide cameras, while two 18MP selfie cameras could reportedly be included—one for each display.
Battery capacity is rumored to fall somewhere between 4,700mAh and 5,800mAh, although the actual capacity remains uncertain.
Remember: These Are Only Leaks
If the current reports are accurate, Apple's upcoming iPhone lineup could bring some of the company's biggest changes in years. A smaller Dynamic Island, a 2nm A20 Pro chip, larger batteries and a variable-aperture camera could make the Pro models particularly interesting.
But the rumored iPhone Ultra foldable could be the biggest development of all, potentially marking Apple's entry into the foldable smartphone market.
