Inmates in Gujarat's Sabarmati Central Jail beat up suspect Ahmed Sayed, who was arrested in connection with a Risin terror plot

Ahmed Syed, a suspect in the Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, accused of plotting a terrorist plot using ricin, was attacked by fellow inmates inside the jail on Tuesday. Prison authorities rescued him in time. The incident occurred while he was being held in a high-security cell.

Ahmedabad: Ahmed Syed, a suspect in the Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, accused of plotting a terrorist attack using the chemical ricin, was attacked by fellow inmates inside the jail on Tuesday. Prison authorities rescued Syed in time. The incident occurred while he was being held in a high-security cell. The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested Dr. Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed from Hyderabad on November 8th.
According
to the ATS, Dr. Ahmed Syed was involved in the production of the dangerous chemical ricin and had links to the Islamic State Khorasan Region (ISKP). In addition to Dr. Syed, the ATS also arrested two other individuals, Azad Suleman Shaikh and Mohammad Suhel Mohammad Salim, in connection with the case. Raids were conducted at their locations in Delhi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad.

Ahmed Syed is highly educated.
Gujarat ATS DIG Sunil Joshi said that Ahmed Syed is a highly educated and radical individual. He had planned to raise funds and recruit people to carry out major terrorist activities. During interrogation, the accused also revealed that their handler had sent them weapons consignments via drone from the Pakistan border.

The arrest was made based on a tip-off. The ATS team arrested Dr. Syed, a resident of Hyderabad, in Gandhinagar. At the time, two Glock pistols, a Beretta pistol, and 30 live cartridges were recovered from him. Dr.
