While the Indian men’s cricket team will remain away from Test cricket for the next few months, fans of the longest format will soon witness action from the Indian women’s team. Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, India will tour Australia in February–March for an all-format series that includes a one-off Test match, for which the squad has now been announced.
The Test match will be played in Perth from March 6 to March 9, concluding India’s Australia tour that also features ODI and T20I series. Harmanpreet Kaur will continue as captain, with Smriti Mandhana serving as vice-captain. Explosive opener Shafali Verma has earned selection following her impressive recent form.
A major highlight of the squad is the return of opener Pratika Rawal, who has fully recovered from the injury she suffered during the 2025 World Cup. She is set to play her first Test match in nearly four-and-a-half years.
Fresh Faces Get Maiden Test Call-Up
Three young players have received their first Test call-up, rewarded for their consistent performances in international and domestic cricket. Among them are promising all-rounder Amanjot Kaur and young pacer Kranti Goud, both of whom have been standout performers in limited-overs formats.
Additionally, 20-year-old left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma, who made her international debut in December, has also been included in the Test squad for the first time.
