IND U19 beat PAK U19 in Asia Cup: The fifth match of the ACC Men's Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 was played between India Under-19 and Pakistan Under-19 at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 49 overs each. Pakistan captain Farhan Yousuf won the toss and elected to bowl first. However, the Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and helped Team India win by 90 runs.

Indian batting also faltered

Batting first, the India Under-19 team got off to a poor start. Opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for just 5 runs. Captain Ayush Mhatre played a useful innings of 38 runs off 25 balls. Coming in at number three, Aaron George anchored the innings, scoring 85 runs off 88 balls. His innings included 12 fours and a six.

Important role of Kanishka and Kundu

Abhigyan Kundu contributed 22 runs in the middle order. Kanishk Chauhan then played a crucial innings of 46 runs. Kanishk hit three long sixes in his innings, strengthening India's score. Team India was all out for 240 runs in 46.1 overs. For Pakistan, Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan took three wickets each, while Nikab Shafiq took two wickets.

Pakistan team scattered while chasing the target

Chasing a target of 241, the Pakistan Under-19 team had a disastrous start. They lost four crucial wickets with just 30 runs on the board. Captain Farhan Yousuf managed only 23, while Usman Khan contributed 16. Huzaifa Ahsan held one end and played a fighting innings of 70 runs off 83 balls. However, he lacked support from the other end. As a result, the entire Pakistani team fell well short of the target and lost the match by 90 runs.

India's biggest success after 2020

Indian bowlers Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chauhan took three wickets each. With this victory, the India Under-19 team recorded their first ODI win against Pakistan since 2020. This long-awaited victory sparked considerable excitement among Indian fans.
