The IMD has also warned of gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph in some areas. Northern and eastern districts are expected to witness more active weather conditions during the day.
Rajasthan Weather Update
Parts of Rajasthan are likely to experience thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rainfall.
Districts in southern Rajasthan, including Jhalawar, Banswara and Dungarpur, are expected to receive heavy showers, while Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Udaipur and several other districts may witness thunderstorms with gusty winds. Rainfall activity is likely to continue for the next few days.
Uttarakhand Under Yellow Alert
The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for several districts of Uttarakhand.
Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and wind speeds of 41–61 kmph is expected in districts including Nainital, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal and adjoining hill regions. Residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to remain cautious due to the possibility of localized disruptions.
Maharashtra Faces Active Monsoon Conditions
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected across several parts of Maharashtra.
The IMD has also issued a Red Alert for Mumbai, where extremely heavy rainfall and localized flooding are possible. Parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada are also expected to receive widespread rainfall over the next few days.
West Bengal and Tamil Nadu to Receive Heavy Rain
In West Bengal, districts across the southern region are likely to witness heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning as weather systems strengthen over the Bay of Bengal.
Tamil Nadu is also expected to experience widespread rainfall in several districts, including Chennai and other interior regions, with thunderstorms likely to accompany the showers.
