The Hyundai Verna, first introduced in 2006, has remained one of India’s most popular mid-size sedans, undergoing several facelifts and generational updates over the years. Currently in its fourth generation, the Verna is now gearing up for a mid-life facelift, expected to debut in early 2026.
According to media reports, testing for the 2026 Verna facelift has already begun, and a test mule has been spotted on the roads, revealing a few key design changes.
Subtle Yet Significant Design Tweaks
While the overall silhouette of the Verna will remain familiar, the upcoming model is expected to feature noticeable updates to the front and rear. This includes redesigned bumpers, new headlamps and taillamps, and a refreshed look that enhances its sporty appeal.
Elements such as the alloy wheels, connected taillamps, and boot-lid spoiler are likely to be carried forward from the current version.
Dual-Screen Layout and Upgraded Interior
The test car seen recently featured a curved dual-screen setup, similar to the layout in Hyundai’s latest Creta and Venue models. Both screens are expected to be around 10.25 inches — one serving as the infotainment display and the other as the digital instrument cluster for the driver.
The cabin will also feature a new D-cut steering wheel, borrowed from the new Venue, along with tilt and telescopic adjustments and steering-mounted controls for improved ergonomics.
Advanced Safety with Level 2 ADAS
The upcoming Verna is expected to come equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, enhancing both safety and convenience. Features may include Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, and several other driver-assist technologies.
Despite these upgrades, the engine lineup will remain unchanged — offering the same 1.5-litre MPi petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines, paired with existing transmission options.
The 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift aims to combine fresh styling, advanced technology, and proven performance — ensuring that the popular sedan continues to stand strong in the competitive mid-size car segment.
