The third-generation Honda Amaze has secured an impressive 5-star rating for adult occupant protection and a 4-star rating for child safety in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests. This is the highest safety rating the Amaze has received so far, placing it among the safest compact sedans manufactured in India.
What is Bharat NCAP?
Bharat NCAP is India’s official crash-testing program, aligned with global protocols such as Global NCAP and Euro NCAP. Vehicles undergo rigorous assessments, including frontal and side-impact tests, child-seat compatibility checks, and evaluations of key safety features. A 5-star rating indicates excellent protection for occupants in real-world crash scenarios.
Amaze Crash Test Scores
The Honda Amaze delivered strong results across all major test categories:
• Frontal offset test: 14.33 / 16
• Side impact test: 14.00 / 16
• Total adult safety score: 23.81 / 24
The sedan comes equipped with a comprehensive safety package, including dual airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, side curtain airbags, thorax airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.
Strong Child Occupant Protection
The Amaze also performed well in child safety evaluations:
• CRS installation: 12 / 12
• 3-year-old dummy score: 7.81 / 8
• 18-month-old dummy score: 8 / 8
The ISOFIX leg support ensures secure installation of rear-facing child seats, which is crucial for young passengers. Additional safety features include ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminders, an airbag deactivation switch, rear defogger, and child safety locks.
A New Benchmark in Compact Sedan Safety
Thanks to its robust structure, multiple airbags, and excellent crash performance, the Honda Amaze now joins the ranks of India’s safest compact sedans. For buyers seeking a family-friendly car with top-tier safety credentials, the new Amaze stands out as a strong contender.
