A shocking incident has come to light from Gurugram, Haryana, where a woman allegedly exploited a cab driver by making him drive for hours, forcing him to pay for her food and drinks, and later threatening him with a false case when he demanded the fare.
The accused woman has been identified as Jyoti Dalal, while the victim cab driver is Ziauddin, a resident of Dhana village in Nuh district.
Hours of Travel, Driver Forced to Pay Expenses
According to the complaint filed by Ziauddin, Jyoti Dalal booked his cab at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday. She initially asked to be taken to Sector 31, then to the bus stand, and later to Cyber City in Gurugram.
During the journey, she repeatedly asked the driver for money. Ziauddin alleged that he gave her ₹700, which she used for food and drinks at various places — all paid for by him. The trip continued for several hours.
Threats When Fare Was Demanded
In the afternoon, when Ziauddin finally asked Jyoti Dalal to pay the cab fare and end the trip, she allegedly became aggressive. The driver claimed she threatened him by saying she would implicate him in a false case of theft or molestation.
Chaos at Sector 29 Police Station
Following the argument, Jyoti Dalal went to Sector 29 police station, where she allegedly created a scene. After she left, Ziauddin approached the police and narrated the entire incident.
During the inquiry, police reportedly found that Jyoti Dalal had earlier been involved in similar incidents.
Previous Fraud Allegations
Police revealed that Dalal had allegedly cheated a salon of ₹20,000 and had earlier refused to pay ₹2,000 to another cab driver. In February 2024, a video showing her arguing with a cab driver over fare had also gone viral on social media.
FIR Registered, Arrest Soon
Confirming the development, SHO Ravi Kumar of Sector 29 police station said that an FIR has been registered against Jyoti Dalal under fraud and other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He added that the investigation is underway and the accused will be arrested soon.
