Good news for employees before Ganpati festival! Government released salary and pension in advance

The central government has given a festive gift to its employees and pensioners in Maharashtra and Kerala. Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi and Onam, the Finance Ministry has announced that salaries and pensions for August will be released in advance, ensuring that lakhs of families can celebrate without financial worries.

Salary credited for Maharashtra employees today

As per the order, all central government employees in Maharashtra, including those working in the Defence, Postal Department and Telecom, will receive their August salary on 26 August 2025. Since Ganesh Chaturthi falls on 27 August, the early release is aimed at helping employees make festival preparations with ease.

Kerala employees got salary before Onam

Employees and pensioners in Kerala have already received their August salaries and pensions on 25 August 2025, a day before Onam. The notification regarding early payment was issued on 21 August, highlighting the government’s intent to provide financial stability during the festive season.

Advance payment, adjustments later

The Finance Ministry clarified that these salaries and pensions are being given as advance payments. Proper calculation and adjustments, if needed, will be made at the end of the month. The Reserve Bank of India has been instructed to ensure timely disbursal so that employees face no inconvenience.

A big relief during festive season

For employees and pensioners, festivals often bring additional financial pressure. The government’s move to release salaries and pensions early has come as a major relief, allowing families to manage household expenses smoothly and celebrate Ganpati and Onam with joy.
