The next few months are set to be a major turning point for the electric SUV segment in India. Four all-new models are gearing up for launch: the Maruti e-Vitara, Mahindra XEV 9S, Mahindra BE Rall-E, and Tata Sierra EV. Maruti Suzuki will announce pricing for the e-Vitara on December 2, while Mahindra’s electric SUVs will debut on November 26, 2025. Tata’s Sierra EV is expected to arrive in early 2026.
Maruti e-Vitara
Maruti’s first all-electric SUV will be offered with two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. A single motor mounted on the front axle will come as standard, while the larger 61 kWh variant will get a dual-motor, AWD setup. Maruti has confirmed that the e-Vitara will deliver a driving range of more than 500 km on a single charge. Key features expected include Level 2 ADAS, wireless charging, dual floating screens, a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and single-zone automatic climate control.
Mahindra XEV 9S
The XEV 9S is essentially the three-row electric counterpart of the XUV700, sharing much of its design and equipment with the XEV 9e. A new teaser confirms a special “Boss Mode” that increases rear-seat legroom. The SUV is likely to offer a triple-screen layout, wireless smartphone connectivity, a two-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, and more. The powertrain setup is also expected to be similar to the XEV 9e.
Mahindra BE Rall-E
Mahindra will unveil the production version of the BE Rall-E concept in Bengaluru on November 26, 2025. The final model is expected to remain close to the concept’s design. This off-road-focused electric SUV will draw styling inspiration from the BE 6. Teasers show aero-optimized star-shaped alloy wheels, an LED light bar, circular projector headlamps, and a sloping roofline. The BE Rall-E is expected to use the same powertrain found in the BE 6.
Tata Sierra EV
The Tata Sierra EV is likely to be offered with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs sourced from the Harrier EV. Although Tata has not confirmed AWD or quad-motor versions, higher trims may feature these options. The claimed driving range is expected to exceed 500 km. Apart from EV-specific updates, the Sierra EV will closely resemble the ICE version, with most of its interior layout and features carried over.
