Let us tell you that a formal request to register an FIR was sent to the police on Tuesday morning in the case of sloganeering outside Sabarmati Hostel in Jawaharlal Nehru University.

In its complaint, the administration stated that at around 10 pm on January 5th, students affiliated with the JNU Students’ Union organized an event outside Sabarmati Hostel. The event was stated to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the violence that occurred on campus on January 5th, 2020.

These students were involved

Initially, the gathering appeared to be limited to the anniversary and involved approximately 30 to 35 students. Prominent students identified in the complaint include Aditi Mishra, Gopika Babu, Sunil Yadav, Danish Ali, Saad Azmi, Mehboob Elahi, Kanishk, Pakiza Khan, and Shubham.

The letter states that following the judicial decision on the bail applications of Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam, the nature and atmosphere of the event changed. Some students began raising highly objectionable, provocative, and inflammatory slogans.

‘Such sloganeering violates JNU’s code of conduct’
The administration states that this act not only transcends the bounds of democratic dissent but also constitutes a blatant disrespect of the Supreme Court. The complaint states that such sloganeering also violates the JNU Code of Conduct. The university states that this poses a serious threat to the peace, harmony, public order, and security environment on campus.

According to the university, security department officials were present at the scene at the time of the incident, including Inspector Gorakhnath, Supervisor Vishal Kumar, and security guards Jai Kumar Meena and Pooja. They were constantly monitoring the situation.
