After the success of Singham Again, Deepika Padukone is all set to return to the big screen following her maternity break. However, recently, rumors spread that Deepika had exited not only Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit but also her second big project, Kalki 2.

The buzz started when Deepika reportedly demanded to work only 8 hours on Spirit, which allegedly led to disagreements and her departure. Following this, some social media speculation suggested that the makers of Kalki 2 might consider replacing her.

According to insiders, Deepika Padukone remains a crucial part of Kalki 2, and her character is vital to the film’s story. Kalki 2 — the sequel to the 2024 hit Kalki 898 AD directed by Nag Ashwin — is slated to begin shooting in 2026. Alongside this, Deepika is also set to star in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King, which will mark the debut of Shah Rukh’s daughter Suhana Khan.
