The massive success of Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar has not only created box office records but also unexpectedly revived interest in a Bhojpuri film with the same title. Actor Ravi Kishan recently shared his humorous reaction to this surprising coincidence.
Bhojpuri ‘Dhurandhar’ back in spotlight
Ravi Kishan revealed that his 2014 Bhojpuri film Dhurandhar: The Shooter has started trending again on social media after the release of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. Clips from the older film have been widely shared online, leading to a sudden spike in viewership.
Speaking at a recent event, Ravi Kishan jokingly said that the film’s producers “must have become crorepatis” due to the renewed attention.
Viral boost from title confusion
According to him, the buzz around the new Dhurandhar made audiences curious about the earlier Bhojpuri version, resulting in people revisiting and binge-watching it. The actor thanked fans for the unexpected resurgence of the film.
He also added light-heartedly that anyone holding rights to the Bhojpuri film has benefited from this sudden wave of interest.
About the Bhojpuri film
Dhurandhar: The Shooter, directed by Deepak Tiwari, features Ravi Kishan as a police officer named Ranveer. The film also stars Brijesh Tripathi and Sangeeta Tiwari in key roles.
Box office contrast
While the Bhojpuri film is enjoying renewed attention years later, the Hindi blockbuster Dhurandhar has reportedly delivered record-breaking global earnings, turning the franchise into one of the biggest commercial successes of recent times.
The situation has become a rare case of a title overlap driving unexpected digital traffic across industries and languages.
