After an impressive performance in the IPL, Jurel has carried his form to English soil, scoring a string of half-centuries against the England Lions in unofficial Test matches. In the first Test, he narrowly missed a century by just six runs, and has now scored three consecutive half-centuries, creating concern among English bowlers ahead of the upcoming Test series.

Jurel’s third consecutive fifty came in the second unofficial Test match where he scored 52 runs off 87 balls, including seven fours. He formed a strong partnership of 121 runs for the third wicket with KL Rahul, who scored 116 runs. In the first unofficial Test match, Jurel made 94 runs off 120 balls with 11 fours and a six in the first innings, followed by an unbeaten 53 runs in the second innings. Selected as the second wicketkeeper-batsman in India’s squad for the five-match Test series against England, Jurel’s current form strengthens his case for a place in the playing eleven.
