Delhi EV Subsidy 2026: How to Apply Online & When You’ll Get the Money

The Delhi government has launched a fully digital portal under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2026 to make it easier for buyers to claim EV subsidies directly from home.

How to apply for EV subsidy on the portal

To apply for the subsidy, EV buyers in Delhi need to follow these steps:

First, register on the official EV subsidy portal using your mobile number. An OTP will be sent for verification. Once verified, you can log in and start the application process.

Next, fill in your vehicle details and personal information. You will need to upload key documents such as your Aadhaar card, vehicle registration certificate (RC), and voter ID.

After submitting the application, you can track its status online in real time. The system is designed to be fully digital, so there is no need to visit government offices.

Important deadline rule

You must apply within 30 days of purchasing the EV and receiving the RC (Registration Certificate). Missing this deadline may make you ineligible for the subsidy.

When will the subsidy money be credited?

Once your application is verified and approved, the subsidy is transferred directly to your bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

According to the Delhi government’s plan, the subsidy is expected to be credited within up to 60 days after application approval.

How much subsidy is available?

Under the policy:

  • Up to ₹30,000 for electric two-wheelers
  • Up to ₹50,000 for electric three-wheelers
  • Up to ₹1 lakh for electric trucks (N-1 category)

Additionally, EV buyers also get benefits like road tax exemption and zero registration fees for vehicles up to ₹30 lakh.

Bottom line

The new system aims to make EV buying cheaper, faster, and fully transparent, with subsidies reaching buyers directly without paperwork delays or middlemen.
