Taken to hospital by taxi

Eyewitnesses told police that the car was being driven by a woman and hit the motorcycle from behind. Police said Singh was driving the motorcycle and his wife was riding pillion. The woman driving the car and her husband, who were accompanying her, rushed Singh and his wife to the hospital in a taxi. My mother was screaming in pain…

Singh's son said his parents were returning from Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and had stopped at Karnataka Bhavan for lunch. "When the accident happened, they were going to Hari Nagar via Dhaula Kuan. Instead of taking them to a nearby hospital, they were taken to a hospital about 22 km from the accident site. My mother suffered head injuries even though she was wearing a helmet and her thigh bone was broken," he said. He also accused the hospital administration of negligence in admitting his parents. He claimed his mother was made to sit in the hospital lobby despite being in a critical condition, while the BMW driver's husband, who had minor injuries, was immediately admitted. "Due to this negligence and delay, my father died and my mother kept screaming in pain," he said.
