The central and state governments are implementing a variety of schemes to improve the future of girls. A similar scheme is being implemented by the Rajasthan government. Under this scheme, the government will cover the cost of girls' education.
The Rajasthan government operates the Chief Minister's Rajshree Scheme. The scheme's primary objective is to cover all expenses from birth to the education of girls. It also aims to prevent female foeticide.
Under this scheme, the government sends ₹50,000 directly to a girl's account from the time she is born until she passes 12th grade. This amount is transferred to an account opened in her name. The government disburses this amount in six installments. The first installment of ₹2,500 will be given at the time of her birth. The final installment of ₹25,000 will be given upon passing 12th grade.
