Tiger Shroff and Sanjay Dutt’s action-packed film Baaghi 4 is gearing up for release on September 5, 2025. While the film has already generated buzz with its high-voltage trailer and advance bookings, it has now run into trouble with the censor board. Despite being granted an ‘A’ (Adult) certificate for its intense violence, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has ordered 23 cuts in both visuals and audio, giving a major jolt to the makers.
Advance Booking Struggles Despite Buzz
The advance bookings for Baaghi 4 began on September 2. As of now, the film has earned around ₹5.21 crore from day-one pre-sales, including block seats. While expectations were high from Tiger Shroff’s return in the hit franchise, these numbers indicate a lukewarm response compared to earlier Baaghi installments.
CBFC Removes 23 Scenes
According to reports, Baaghi 4 received its censor certification on August 26, 2025, but not without several cuts. The censor board has objected to multiple violent and sensitive scenes. Some of the notable removals include:
-
Lighting a cigarette with a severed hand (13 seconds long)
-
Throwing a knife at the statue of Jesus Christ
-
Bowing scene of the Jesus Christ statue
-
Graphic throat-slitting sequences (three different instances)
-
Multiple violent action scenes featuring excessive bloodshed
Additionally, a scene where the hero stands inside a coffin has been deleted. Another shot showing a character lighting a cigarette with a Niranjan Diya has also been removed.
Sensitive Content Deleted
Apart from violence, the CBFC has flagged inappropriate and sexual content. Scenes depicting a girl being touched inappropriately and a brief nude shot have been eliminated. The committee felt these depictions were unnecessary and did not comply with certification guidelines.
Audio and Dialogue Cuts
The censor board has also intervened in dialogues. Some controversial or offensive lines have either been muted or modified, including:
-
The word “condom” muted in one dialogue
-
“Tera vajud hi mit jayega God” changed to “Sab dekhte rah jaayenge”
-
“Woh bhi darta hai mujhse” deleted entirely
-
“Don Khoke, dikdam ok” muted
-
Derogatory terms used by police characters removed
Will Censor Cuts Impact the Film’s Fate?
Baaghi 4, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s NGE Films and directed by A. Harsh, marks the return of Tiger Shroff in his most famous action avatar. Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist, while Harnaaz Sandhu and Sonam Bajwa star as leading ladies.
With 23 cuts enforced by CBFC, the big question remains: Will these edits dilute the raw action appeal that fans expect from the franchise? The film’s box office fate will depend on audience word-of-mouth, especially since it faces competition from several other releases in September.
