The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), launched to provide financial assistance for medical treatment to the needy and poor in the country, has completed eight years. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the scheme's beneficiaries and highlighted its performance.
The Prime Minister stated that over 600 million people currently receive health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per year, making the scheme one of the largest in the world. He also pointed out that in addition to reducing medical costs, poor and middle-class families have received financial assistance.
According to reports, more than 485.4 million Ayushman cards
have been issued nationwide. More than 130 million people have benefited from the treatment. This scheme has helped millions of families reduce the burden of high medical expenses for serious illnesses.
Over 39,000 hospitals
across the country are listed under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, with over 39,000 government and private hospitals listed. It has been reported that beneficiaries have so far benefited from hospitalization and treatment worth over ₹2 lakh crore through these hospitals.
How to make an Ayushman card online?
To get an Ayushman card, first, it's important to check whether you're eligible for the scheme. You can do this by using the official portal benefit.nha.gov.in. After checking your eligibility, you can apply for the card following the existing process. You can also use the Ayushman Bharat mobile app. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries can receive cashless treatment cover of up to ₹5 lakh. Therefore, if your family is eligible for this scheme, it's important to check whether you have an Ayushman card.
