Ingredients required to make Aloo Poha Bal

  • Poha (flattened rice) – 1 cup
  • Boiled potatoes – 2 medium size
  • Onion – 1 medium finely chopped
  • Green chilli – 1 to 2, finely chopped
  • Ginger – 1 teaspoon grated
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons finely chopped
  • Roasted cumin powder – half a teaspoon
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Oil - for frying

How to make Aloo Poha Balls

  • First of all, take the poha in a bowl and wash it lightly with water and soak it for 5 minutes. Take care that the poha is not too wet.
  • Now mash the boiled potatoes in a mixing bowl and add the soaked poha to it. After this, add finely chopped onion, green chili, ginger, coriander leaves, roasted cumin powder, lemon juice and salt and mix well.
  • Make small balls from the prepared mixture. If you want, you can make them in the shape of your choice.
  • Now heat oil in a pan and deep fry the balls on medium flame till they become golden brown and crispy. If you want, you can also air fry them or shallow fry them.
  • Serve hot potato poha balls with green chutney or tomato sauce.
