The long wait is finally over for fans of Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor. Their much-talked-about film Abeer Gulaal, which had earlier faced a ban in India, is now gearing up for a worldwide release on September 12, 2025. However, the movie will not hit Indian theatres due to restrictions on films featuring Pakistani actors.

Why Was Abeer Gulaal Delayed?

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the film’s release was suspended in India. The producers decided not to risk further delays and have chosen to go for a global release minus India—a strategy previously adopted by Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardar Ji 3. That film went on to smash records in Pakistan, becoming the second-biggest hit there after The Legend of Maula Jatt.

Trailer Release Update

The makers have also dropped a big surprise: the trailer of Abeer Gulaal launches today (August 28) at 1 pm. It promises an emotional love story between Fawad and Vaani’s characters, packed with high drama and music. The trailer includes three major tracks by Amit Trivedi:

• Khalbaliyaan – a pulsating club anthem

• Khudaya Ishq – a soulful romantic ballad

• Doriyaan – an emotional separation track
